Celebrating Astec’s Gary Hall: 25 Year Long Service Award

Astec’s Gary Hall’s 25 Years of Service Hits a High Note

We’re delighted to celebrate our colleague Gary Hall’s quarter of a century at Astec Precision!

Gary is a machinist and has been since he joined. Three people set up the business and Gary was the first employee.

Here he reveals how he’s reconnecting with a personal passion and how his long service award helped him get something he’s had his eye on for a while.

Congratulations to Gary for hitting this amazing career milestone! Here’s what he had to say about his award:

“I’ve played guitar since I was a child, taking classical guitar lessons until the age of 18. Then driving lessons, playing in a group and socialising were placing demands on my time and money so I gave classical guitar up.

“Last year I started wondering about playing again. So I bought a used classical guitar and set about learning how to read the dots and squiggles again, enjoying playing something different to the music I had been listening to and playing for the last thirty odd years.

“When my long service award was coming up, I asked if I could have gift cards for a chain of guitar shops. I used them to buy a Cordoba F7 flamenco guitar.”

Astec's Gary Hall, machinist, celebrates 25 years at the company. His long service award was a set of gift vouchers so he could buy this Cordoba F7 flamenco guitar.

Here’s to many more years with the Astec team – and a lot more rasgueado practice!
